Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast. Make a well in the center and pour in lukewarm water and olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough into a lightly oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm area for 1–1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
- While the dough rises, prepare your filling. Cook turkey bacon until crispy, chop the chicken ham, and dice the vegetables. Combine them in a mixing bowl with cheese and spices.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently. Divide into six pieces and roll each into a 6-inch circle.
- Spoon a portion of the filling onto one half of each dough circle. Fold the other half over and press edges together to seal.
- Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush the tops of each calzone with the egg wash.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Place the assembled calzones in the air fryer in a single layer. Cook for about 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crisp.
- Remove calzones from the air fryer and let cool slightly before serving.
