Method

Preparation
  1. Allow store-bought pizza dough to reach room temperature for about 30 minutes, or roll out homemade dough to ¼ inch thick.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, your choice of cooked meats, and spinach. Season with oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. On a floured surface, roll the dough into circles, approximately 6-8 inches in diameter and ¼ inch thick.
  4. Cut the rolled-out dough into large circles, ensuring they are 6 to 8 inches in diameter.
  5. Scoop 2-3 tablespoons of filling mixture onto one half of each dough circle, leaving a small border around the edge.
  6. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape and press the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp edges for extra sealing.
  7. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Brush the tops of the calzones with the beaten egg.
  8. Place calzones in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 10-15 minutes until golden brown and cheese filling is bubbly.
  9. Check for doneness; if not fully cooked, add 2-3 more minutes.
  10. Allow calzones to cool slightly before serving warm with marinara sauce.
