Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped garlic, chopped onion, beaten egg, barbecue sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully integrated but be careful not to overwork the meat. Let the mixture rest for about 10 minutes.
  2. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, aiming for around 400°F to 450°F. Clean and lightly oil the grill grates.
  3. Divide the rested meat mixture into four portions and shape each into a round patty, making a small indentation in the center.
  4. Place the formed patties on the grill. Grill for approximately 6-7 minutes on one side. Flip and grill for an additional 6-7 minutes.
  5. A couple of minutes before finishing, brush the tops of each patty with additional barbecue sauce.
  6. Use a meat thermometer to check doneness; aim for 130°F to 135°F for medium-rare.
  7. Allow the cooked burgers to rest for a few minutes before serving on toasted buns with desired toppings.
