Ingredients
  

For the Casserole
  • 1 pound Ground Beef can swap for ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil can use vegetable oil
  • 1 medium Onion chopped, yellow or white preferred
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced fresh
  • 4 medium Potatoes Yukon gold or russet, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese can use dairy-free cheese
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese optional
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Italian Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika smoked paprika optional
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 cup Beef Broth or Water can use vegetable broth
  • optional cup Milk for creaminess

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook for 5–7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for another 3–4 minutes until onions are soft.
  4. Spread cooked beef and onion mixture in the baking dish. Layer with thinly sliced potatoes, overlapping slightly.
  5. Season potato layer with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and Parmesan cheese over potatoes. Pour beef broth around edges, optionally drizzle with milk.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve.
