Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine rolled oats, milk (or milk alternative), and water. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  2. Once it reaches a boil, reduce heat to low and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, or until oats become creamy and tender.
  3. Add a pinch of salt and ground cinnamon to the oat mixture. Stir well and let it simmer on low for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. While the oats are cooking, core and dice fresh apples into small pieces. Set them aside.
  5. Once oats are done, gently fold diced apples into the mixture. Cook for an additional 2 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove the saucepan from heat, ladle oatmeal into serving bowls, and drizzle with maple syrup or honey.
  7. Top with chopped nuts or dried fruits for extra texture and flavor.
