Step-by-Step Instructions
- Start by washing and optionally peeling your apples. Core them, then slice into fry-shaped sticks, about ½ inch thick. Pat the apple slices dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
- Prepare your coating station with three bowls. In the first bowl, add all-purpose flour. In the second bowl, whisk together an egg with a splash of milk until smooth. In the third bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon.
- Taking one apple stick at a time, dredge it in the flour. Next, dip the floured stick into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, roll the apple stick in the breadcrumb mixture and press gently to ensure an even coating.
- Lightly spray the coated apple fries with cooking spray and arrange them in a single layer in your air fryer basket.
- Set your air fryer to 375°F and air fry the apple fries for 8–10 minutes. Halfway through, flip the fries to ensure even cooking.
- Once cooked, carefully remove the apple fries from the air fryer and serve them warm.
