Preparation Steps
- Begin by draining the extra-firm tofu and pressing it for at least 10 minutes to remove excess moisture.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the extra virgin olive oil, coconut aminos, apple cider vinegar, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, ground black pepper, and maple syrup. Whisk until thoroughly mixed.
- Gently toss the torn tofu chunks in the marinade, ensuring each piece is evenly coated. Let the flavors soak in for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) for baking, set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C), or heat oil in a non-stick skillet for pan-frying.
- Spread the marinated tofu chunks on a lined baking sheet if baking, and bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway.
- For air frying, arrange the tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for 15 minutes, shaking halfway.
- If pan-frying, cook the tofu in the hot skillet for about 7 minutes, turning occasionally.
