Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Blender or food processor

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, flake the fresh or canned salmon, ensuring it's well-drained to avoid excess moisture. Add the cooked and mashed potatoes, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly using a fork or your hands until all ingredients are well combined and the mixture holds together.
  2. Shape the salmon mixture into small balls, about 1-2 inches in diameter. Place on a plate and let them rest for a few minutes.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the salmon balls on the sheet, ensuring space between them. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  4. While the salmon balls bake, prepare the creamy avocado sauce by blending the ripe avocado, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt until smooth and creamy.
  5. Once the salmon balls are baked, let them cool slightly before serving. Drizzle the avocado sauce over the balls or serve it on the side.
