Ingredients
  

For the Tofu
  • 1 block Extra Firm Tofu Pressed to remove moisture
  • 3 tablespoons Cornstarch Can substitute with arrowroot powder
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Adjust to heat preference
For the Zesty Coating
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice Freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Zest Add extra for more flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh garlic can also be used
For Cooking
  • 2 tablespoons Cooking Oil Canola or vegetable oil

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Prepare Tofu - Press the extra firm tofu for 15–20 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut into uniform bite-sized cubes.
  2. Step 2: Coat Tofu - In a mixing bowl, combine cornstarch, garlic powder, lemon zest, and black pepper. Toss the cubed tofu until coated.
  3. Step 3: Sear Tofu - Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add cooking oil. Sear the coated tofu for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally.
  4. Step 4: Make Sauce - Whisk together lemon juice, additional lemon zest, and a pinch of black pepper. Set aside.
  5. Step 5: Combine & Serve - Drizzle the sauce over the crispy tofu and gently toss. Serve immediately with your favorite side.
