Preparation
- Cut brioche or challah bread into 1-inch thick slices and arrange in a greased baking dish.
- Whisk together eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
- Pour custard mixture over bread slices, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and center is set. Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for extra crispiness.
- Sprinkle granulated sugar over the top and caramelize with a kitchen torch or under the broiler.
