- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lay corn tortillas on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy.
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until soft. Incorporate minced garlic and taco seasoning, cooking for an additional minute.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat and stir in salsa, heating for 2-3 minutes.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine refried beans and heat in 30-second intervals until warm.
- Spread warmed refried beans over each tostada shell, top with ground beef mixture, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, avocado, and shredded cheese.
- Drizzle with sour cream and sprinkle cilantro. Serve immediately with salsa on the side.
