Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 large eggs with 3/4 cup of half-and-half, whisking vigorously until smooth. Add 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, and a pinch of salt, whisking until fully incorporated.
- Prepare the Hawaiian Rolls by poking several small holes in the bottom of each roll with a toothpick, allowing the custard to soak in.
- Dip each roll into the custard mixture, soaking one side for about 30 seconds before flipping to soak the other side for the same time.
- Place a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter, melting to coat the pan evenly.
- Carefully place the soaked rolls in the heated skillet, cooking for about 30-60 seconds on each side until golden brown.
- Remove from the skillet and transfer to a serving plate, dusting with powdered sugar and serving warm with fresh berries and maple syrup.
