  • 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract use pure extract for best flavor
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon plus 1 tsp for topping
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Nutmeg plus 1/2 tsp for topping
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
For the Topping
  • 3/4 cup Butter softened
  • 1 cup Light Brown Sugar packed
  • 1 tbsp Light Corn Syrup adds moisture

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Grease a 9"x13" baking dish with softened butter or cooking spray.
  2. Slice the bread into 1-inch thick pieces and arrange them in the baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, half and half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the arranged bread and press gently to coat.
  5. Cover the dish tightly and refrigerate overnight for at least 8 hours.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and flip the bread slices to ensure even coating.
  7. Mix the remaining butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a separate bowl.
  8. Spread the topping mixture evenly over the soaked bread.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
