  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the 3 ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth, then stir in the melted butter, 1 cup of granulated sugar, 2 large eggs, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until creamy.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 cup of cocoa powder, then fold this mixture into the banana mixture.
  4. Fold in 1/4 cup of milk and, if desired, stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips.
