Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- Mash the 3 ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth, then stir in the melted butter, 1 cup of granulated sugar, 2 large eggs, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until creamy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 cup of cocoa powder, then fold this mixture into the banana mixture.
- Fold in 1/4 cup of milk and, if desired, stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Mix 1/2 cup of brown sugar with 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and sprinkle it over the brownie batter, then dot with 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely, then slice into squares.

Notes
Using well overripe bananas is key for moisture and sweetness. Avoid overmixing to keep brownies fudgy.
