Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8.5-by-4.5-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Add one stick of unsalted butter to a sauté pan and stir continuously for 5–7 minutes until it turns golden brown.
  3. Mash three ripe bananas in a mixing bowl and combine with three large eggs until creamy.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, dark brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg until clump-free.
  5. Fold the banana-egg mixture into the dry ingredients, then slowly add the browned butter until smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and place the halved banana on top, sprinkling with brown sugar.
  7. Bake for 70-80 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before slicing.
