Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8.5-by-4.5-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- Add one stick of unsalted butter to a sauté pan and stir continuously for 5–7 minutes until it turns golden brown.
- Mash three ripe bananas in a mixing bowl and combine with three large eggs until creamy.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, dark brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg until clump-free.
- Fold the banana-egg mixture into the dry ingredients, then slowly add the browned butter until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and place the halved banana on top, sprinkling with brown sugar.
- Bake for 70-80 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before slicing.
