  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter salted butter works in a pinch
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil feel free to use other oils
For the Flavor
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced; fresh garlic is best
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice freshly squeezed is ideal
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Zest use microplane for best results
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
For Presentation
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley for garnish; can substitute with dill or cilantro

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté 2 cloves of minced garlic for about 30 seconds.
  3. Place the seasoned cod fillets skin-side down into the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  4. Flip the cod fillets, pour 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice over them, and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until flaked easily.
  5. Remove the cod from the skillet, garnish with chopped parsley and lemon zest, and serve warm.
