Preparation Steps
  1. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a small skillet over low heat. Add sliced mushrooms and onions with Worcestershire sauce and sauté for about 10 minutes until caramelized.
  2. Stir in 2 cloves of minced garlic into the mixture and sauté for another 5 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Form 1 pound of ground beef into four quarter-pound patties, seasoning each with salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard.
  4. Cook the patties on a medium-high grill for 5 minutes without flipping, then flip and cook for another 3 minutes. Add a slice of cheddar cheese to melt.
  5. Butter the hamburger buns and toast them in a separate skillet until golden brown.
  6. Assemble by spreading mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, adding the patty, then topping with the onion and mushroom mixture, finishing with the other half of the bun.
