  • 1 pound lean ground beef can substitute with ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped pepperoni
  • 1 cup low-fat mozzarella cheese cheddar works well as a substitute
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste optional
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes optional
  • 1 tablespoon flat-leaf parsley optional
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder must to enhance flavors
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder can substitute with fresh garlic
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika regular paprika can be an alternative
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano use mixed Italian herbs if necessary

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Season with salt and pepper and cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes, then drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in pepperoni, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and oregano. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes and tomato paste, stir to combine, and simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  4. Lay wraps flat and divide the filling evenly. Add mozzarella cheese and roll tightly, sealing edges with water.
  5. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake rolls seam-side down on a lined baking sheet for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Let cool for a few minutes before serving with marinara sauce or ranch dressing.
