Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil.
  2. In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil and cook the ground beef for 5-7 minutes until browned, draining excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the beef and sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until onions are translucent.
  4. Transfer the beef mixture to the baking dish and layer thinly sliced potatoes on top, seasoning with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Add shredded cheddar cheese, followed by Parmesan, and pour beef broth or water around the edges. Drizzle with milk if desired.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
