Step-by-Step Instructions for Crockpot Chili
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for 5–7 minutes until fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and chopped bell pepper to the skillet, stirring for 2–3 minutes until softened. Transfer to the slow cooker.
  3. In the slow cooker, add the beef and vegetable mixture, then the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, pinto beans, and beef broth. Stir to combine.
  4. Sprinkle in the chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Cover and set the slow cooker to LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours. Do not peek frequently.
