Preparation Steps
- Drain excess water from the silken tofu and let it rest briefly on paper towels.
- Slice the tofu into ½ to 1-inch thick pieces and arrange on a plate.
- In a bowl, mix minced garlic, soy sauce, black vinegar, sesame oil, vegetarian oyster sauce, and sugar. Optionally add chili oil.
- Prepare a steamer with boiling water and place the plate of tofu above the water.
- Steam for 8-10 minutes until heated through but still soft.
- Remove the plate from the steamer, drain any excess liquid, and pour the sauce over the tofu.
- Garnish with spring onions and cilantro before serving.
